Halloween

Usually I love to dress up for Halloween. It’s fun to dress up and miss the days when you’re a kid and that’s normal :). Anyway this year we didn’t really have enough money to buy costumes and I’m not very good and coming up with costumes so me and Jake did not dress up. Besides, I’m not sure how much Jake wanted to dress up. Although I told him I wanted to go do something fun for Halloween because I do enjoy Halloween. We ended up hanging out with Jake’s friend JC and his new wife Alli in Salt Lake. We first went to Olive Garden, then went to see Toy Story 3 at the dollar theatre. Finally we decided to go play Laser Tag. When we got to Laser Quest there was not a single person there aside from the workers. There was a game going on but no new players so it ended up being just us four in the arena. It ended up being a blast. The first game we started out play a free for all, but Alli and JC ganged up so me and Jake decided to team up as well. and to be honest I got a really low score that game. JC got like 200 something and Jake was like 144, but Ali got 34 and I got 7 :(. Well the next game we played we decided starting out that we’d do the team thing again. We (me and Jake) did a lot better after that. Alli was –8 and then me with 99. I don’t know what JC got but I know that Jake won that game with 300 something points. I know I could never beat the guys’ scores, but I was rather proud of my second games score. Also, while I have no way to prove it, but I swear I was able to get JC in a running shot. I was kind of cornered and I know the only way to move was to run past JC (he was down a little hall thing) so I took quickly pointed my gun to the side and was shooting as I passed the hall and swear I heard the sound of someone being hit. Although I can’t exactly prove and it could easily be a part of my imagination I swear I did it.

Just Because

The other night when Jake got home he had a beautiful bouquet of flowers. They were absolutely gorgeous. The best part is they were for no reason at all other then to say I Love You, which are the best kind of flowers. Although the only thing wrong with flowers are that they wilt and so in order to remember them I took pictures.

Joe and Maggie

This blog is about mine and Jake’s “children”, Joe and Maggie. They are both black labs. Very energetic, loving and fun. They are the sweetest dogs that I’ve ever had.

Maggie is technically mine. She’s almost a year old and comes from a great bloodline. Her father and grandfather are master hunters. However, since we do not have a place to live nor do we have much money right now we feel it is best to give up one of the puppies so we are giving Maggie to Jake’s dad. We’ll still be able to breed Joe to her, but she won’t be ours anymore. A lot of the pictures are blurry because it was really hard to have them sit still.

Our other puppy and the one we are going to keep is Joe. Joe is actually almost three so I don’t know if he counts as a puppy anymore. He’s Jake’s pride and joy and his best friend. Jake and Joe have known each other longer then I have known Jake. He’s an amazing dog and is really obedient.

This next picture is funny because Joe was sitting very still for the picture, but for some reason my camera’s shutter speed was really slow. Jake thought I had taken the picture so he had Joe move and so the way the picture came out made Joe look like a ghost.

Cooper’s Drive-In

So Jake’s side of the family is completely opposite of mine, his family has all boys. So either way we are going to break tradition (I hope we break his, I’m not sure I can handle boys). Anyway, Wednesday was one of Jake’s Nephew’s birthday and so they decided to get the nephews together to have a party. They first went to Denny’s for dinner, but I missed that part. After Denny’s they went home and made a “Drive-In”. It was such a creative idea I had to blog about it. They took boxes and made cars out of them. Then they took these little trays and hooked them to the side of the box kind of like they used to do in 50s. Then they put the boxes around the TV and put on a double feature. I have pictures, but I can’t find the cord to download the pics onto my computer so you’ll see the pictures later.

Bridals

So Saturday I went and took my bridals. Jenny and Michaelene helped me get ready and I looked gorgeous so thanks to you both (yes Mikey you helped). Then I met my mom and Linda at Grandma’s and we went up Mill Creek Canyon. We started at a waterfall which I thought was perfect for me, but because of the tall mountain the lighting we bad we moved to the other side of the canyon because the light was better. We found a cute bridge with some beautiful colorful leaves. I can’t wait to see the pictures. At the end Linda took some pictures of my ring. So yay I’ve got a good picture of my ring.

Jake’s First Day

So yesterday was Jake’s first day at his new job. He got an MA job at the ENT clinic. The ENT clinic is Ears, Nose and Throat which I think is funny because Michaelene’s major is the E part of that. Yesterday was just orientation, but still I’m way excited.

Well yesterday I had an appointment in Salt Lake at 5:00 and so I thought it would be best for us to save money if we car pooled. I dropped Jake off at the U and we made plans that he would take tracks down to where my appointment is since it’s just down town. At work I was looking into something Mom and said earlier about the new condo’s at City Creek being in $100,000 range which is what me and Jake are looking for. So I looked at the floor plans and thought they would be nice to live in. So I left work early to go to the sales office and get information. Well it turns out mom was wrong, the lowest priced condo was $273,000 and that was for a 1 bedroom. So yeah I didn’t stay long. I ended up getting to my appointment early and they were able to get me in early so I finished my appointment at 5 which I thought would be good since I didn’t think Jake would be able to take Trax. I thought that Trax would cost coming from the U and I knew Jake didn’t have any money on him. I also figured that he would call me on his way down because he didn’t know exactly where he was going. Well when I finished my appointment I sent a text telling Jake that I was on my way up to get him hoping he wouldn’t take the Trax. Then when I got up to U I called him and it went straight to voicemail, his phone was dead. I started looking all over the hospital for him and couldn’t find him anywhere. I asked where orientation might be held and was told where ever they felt that day. So I started freaking out. How would I find him? He was in a city with a million different places he could be. So I started driving up and down the streets trying to find him until I finally got a call from him. He was about three blocks from where we were originally going to meet, but he couldn’t remember exactly where so he was off a bit. Well when he’d realized he wouldn’t be able to find where I was he went into a Cricket store and charged his phone just enough to where he could call me. Phew, I was worried it would take all night to find him, but it only ended up taking about an hour.
