Joe and Sleeping

So I know it seems lately I’ve been blogging a lot about Joe, but he’s just so dang funny. Joe likes to sleep with us in bed. The only problem is we sleep in a full bed and barely have enough room for Jake and I, let alone room for a large dog. Well at the beginning of the night he’ll usually get up on the bed and lay behind my legs with his head on my legs. Then while trying to fall asleep my legs start feeling cramped and I need to stretch so I kick Joe off. Then when I wake up he’s back to sleeping in bed with us. Well one night Jake and I were just laying in bed and next thing you know we feel Joe’s body against our legs. He was so stealthy getting onto the bed that we didn’t even feel it. We laughed and kicked him off the bed. Then we wondered if Joe knew when we were asleep to get on the bed. So Jake starts fake snoring and Joe jumps up onto the bed, not stealthy at all. What a smart dog. Although we’ve played that trick with him enough that he doesn’t do it anymore.

Then the other night while Jake and I were cuddling Joe decided he wanted to cuddle with us. He jumps onto the bed and squeezes in between us.

Things I learned last weekend.

1. Trying to save money by buying an $11 shaver from Walmart and shaving your own dog is not a good idea. Spending the extra money for a professional to do it is well worth the price.

Joe

I love my dog Joe which is funny because I don’t remember ever having much of an attachment to our pets. I guess it’s because growing up I never really had the responsibility for our pets and I never got attached, I just thought it was me not being a pet person. Since we moved into our place and it being so cold outside Joe gets to be inside. I have been getting really close to Joe lately. He’s such a good dog! He’ll always ask me to go to the bathroom. He loves to follow me around which is nice to have that kind of loyalty in a pet. He knows how to hug. Most of the time he ends up just laying me by me. He loves to curl up in a little ball which is so cute. He also has the cutest puppy dog eyes and he never barks. Here are some cute pictures of him. DSCN0864 DSCN0882 DSCN0887

The Hockey Game

So the other night Jake’s friend called up and asked if he wanted to go to Hockey game and that he had tickets for one of the luxury suites. Jake was all excited and said “Yeah me and Rachael would love to go.” Well as it turns out tickets meant him and Jake, not me. I was ok with that I thought that it would be fun for Jake to have a guys night. I guess Jeff felt bad and got me a ticket as well so us three went to the game. This was my first Hockey game and I must say that it was really fun! The suite was nice and it was a decent view. For being a low scoring sport it was surprisingly fun to watch. There were a bunch of body slams and one fight. Although I don’t understand why the sport of Hockey has more fights then other sports. Is it because the penalty is much lower (5 minutes penalty for fighting, 7 for instigating) or just that the people that play hockey have more aggression? Oh well, I can’t deny that the fighting did make the game a little bit more interesting. Most of the game was tied one to one. Then Utah got a goal near the end of 2 period and kept the lead for awhile. Then about middle of the third period Las Vegas Renegades got a goal and it stayed tied up to the last minute where the Renegades scored again with 32 seconds left on the clock. Sadly the Utah Grizzlies lost. I still enjoyed watching it. Although I did learn that the Hockey team has cheerleader. The Grizzly Ice Girls or something like that. I wasn’t impressed with their dancing, worst then the Jazz dancers. When they were announced as the Ice girls my thoughts were it would be cooler if they were Ice Skaters and maybe knew a little bit of figure skating, that would be cooler ice girls.

New Years

I can’t believe how long it has been since I have blogged. I know that New Years was almost two months ago, but I do want to remember New Years as it was a really fun one for me. It was not planned but we had a fun little group. Alicia and Chris were supposed to home in Grand Forks, but due to weather their flight was cancelled twice so they ended up spending New Years at my mom’s. Me and Jake and Rashelle and Jason all hung out too. We played games most of the night. It started out with the guys playing games upstairs and the girls played the wii downstairs. Then Rashelle and Mom mad some of the minute to win it games and we played those for awhile. At the New Year we took some old Fireworks and set them off. It was fun, but mom was worried, for good reason, they were illegal. It was freezing there was a ton of smoke but it was fun to watch. Here are some pictures of us lighting the fireworks

Christmas

So every Christmas I tell myself I am going to take more pictures. Although every year I forget or maybe it’s just that I am enjoying myself to worry about getting out my camera and taking pictures. I’m sure when I have kids that will be different. This year my dad had to work Christmas so we wanted to get together before Christmas so that we could have everyone together. We ended up picking Ryan’s birthday so the dinner was Ryan’s birthday/Cranney Christmas dinner. We started our the night at Winger’s by Valley Fair Mall because Chris and Alicia don’t get to eat there anymore since they live in North Dakota. Dinner was great! Then afterwards Valley Fair Mall has made a lot of changes and have a lot of new stuff including a courtyard with a huge Christmas tree that changed colors with the music. Also all the trees around the courtyard were lighted and went with the music. This night was the only Christmas pictures I got.

So no onto actual Christmas. Of course we started out the Holiday with the Burn’s tradition of bowling Christmas Eve morning. I had tons of fun and it was the first time that Jake had been and I could tell he was having fun too. After bowling we went out to my Mom’s house to spend Christmas the night. Chris and Alicia were there too, but we ended up preparing for Christmas. Although as long as I’m with my family I’m having fun. I wrapped presents while Alicia and mom finished making presents. It was funny because Alicia was also making my present, which I didn’t know she was doing until I walked over there and mom quickly put what she had in front of her under the table. It turned out to be a cute plaque that I can put up in my house. I’m really excited to decorate it.

The next morning we woke up and pretty much just me and Jake opened presents. Mom was waiting to open her presents with the rest of the family and I don’t know why Chris and Alicia didn’t have any presents, maybe they didn’t want to worry about bringing them on the plane. After we opened presents we went to Grandma Burn’s for Christmas breakfast, but before the Cranney family exchanged their gifts.  Then we went up to breakfast and afterward opened Grandma Burn’s gifts. When that was all said and done we went to Jake’s mom’s new house in Springville. It’s a really pretty house up on the mountain. We played games and then watched the kids play with toys that Santa brought them. Nikki had gotten her kids a dog named Bell, she got to come over and meet the family. That’s how we ended Christmas and I loved it.

Erin

So Erin is the cutest little girl! Not last weekend, but the weekend before I was at home trying to finish packing up the last of my stuff in my room. I ended up having a packing buddy. Erin decided she wanted to “help” me. She was in my room playing with my stuff animals. Of course I had music so there were times she was dancing with the bear. It was too cute, I couldn’t resist some pictures.
