So I am finally blogging again. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep up with the blog.
On July 5th I had the greatest joy in my life, Grant Jacob Taylor. I am so excited to finally get to start my family. Early in June I was already starting to dilating and was certain I would go early and so each week I kept thinking I would have the baby any day now and he kept waiting. By my 39 week appointment, only 4 days away from my due date, I determined that I would probably would not have him until I was induced which my doctor told me would probably be another 1 1/2 weeks away. . On the 4th I kept joking to Jake maybe if we saw lots of fireworks we could smoke him out. I know cheesy joke. We did some aerial fireworks with my sister and her kids. Then we drove down close to Desseret Peak to watch the fireworks after the Rodeo. They started around 11:00 and I really enjoyed them. After the fireworks we went home and went to bed. However, I never got a chance to sleep. I started having contractions. They were about 20 min apart, but they were long and they hurt. After a few contractions I called the hospital they stated they wanted them to be closer and that I should try to take a bath. Then some were like 7 min apart and some were still 20 min. Finally around 3:00 am I told Jake that they hurt too bad and I didn’t want to wait any longer. So we grabbed our hospital bag and headed out. At that time my contractions decided to be only a few minutes apart. We got to the hospital quickly. They got me in the room and started hooking me up to the machines. The Nurse checked me and said I was ready to go and called all the on call people, the doc and anesthesiologist. Really enjoyed my epidural it was great and made me feel tons better. When the doctor checked me again she said I was almost ready to push. She had me do some practice pushes and said she would come back in 1/2 hour and we would start to actually push. When she came back my contractions started to be 4 to 6 min apart so I would push and then wait for the next contraction. It only took 4 contractions I think, I can’t remember exactly how many, to have him. They put him on my chest as they cleaned him up. I was so happy to see him and thought he was so beautiful that I started crying. Then they took him to give him some shots and check his vitals, stuff like that. Jake watched them and took pictures of him.
By this time it was around 7 in the morning. Here are pictures of the proud parents holding their bundle of joy.
The first two visitors were Grandma & Grandpa Cranney and Aunt Tiffany. I can’t remember who exactly came first. I had the intentions of taking pictures of all the visitors but forgot. Aunt Shelly came to visit during the Hospital’s quiet time and so they wouldn’t let her in and she had to wait for a bit. Then she came in with Brooke and Erin, Abby was sick so they didn’t have her come.. I had gotten some sleep by then so I remembered to get some pictures.
I saw a cute idea on pinterest where you take a picture of the baby with a cupcake and a 0 candle for his Birthday. Late that night before midnight I wanted to get the picture. I’m no photographer, but I still think it’s a cute picture.
The next day aunt Alicia, Uncle Chris, Eve and Layla visited us in the Hospital. Grandma Burns also came with them and saw her favorite Great Grandson.
The rest of our visitors came when we were home. Aunt Andrea was blessing Emma and so they were not able to come down. Also Aunt Mikey and Aunt Amanda were already on their way up to Idaho for the blessing and so they also had to wait to see him. I didn’t get any pictures of them either. Grandma and Grandpa Taylor and Aunt Nikki also visited us at home. As well as our friends Jeff and Cindy. I also had many visitors from our Ward. Some I got pictures and some I didn’t.
