Hitch Hikers

I remember see a lot of Hitch Hikers when I was younger. However, as I grew up and tons of horror movies came out of either crazy people hitch hiking or hitch hikers being picked up by crazy people I have seen less. Whenever I do see the few remaining hitch hikers, I am too afraid to pick someone up by myself or if I was with any of my sisters.

On our road trip to Oregon I saw more hitch hikers then I have in a long time. Well one day the guys went golfing in the nearest city which happend to be 45 minutes west. Turns out on their way home they picked up hitch hikers trying to get from Canada to somewhere in Arizona and then back up to Vegas to get married. It was a young couple early 20s from London. Their current destination was Florence which was the nearest coastal town. Since our cabin was about 30 minutes from Florence the guys dropped off our new London friends at some small stores by our cabin and said good luck.

A couple hours passed and our huge family group decided to go to Mo's for dinner which ends up being in Florence. Well Jake and I had an empty backseat so Jake said that if he saw that couple again he was going to pick them up. Sure enough they were in the same spot the guys dropped them off so we picked them up. I thought it was funny and had the guys had not done it first then I probably won't have let Jake stop. Luckily they were fun to talk to and they were nice. I loved their accents. If they ever do make it to Vegas on time and actually can get married and make their flight home to London then they will have some great stories. Although they said we were the only people to pick them up so far (not really surprising.)

Well later that night as we're heading home we decide to stop at the beach for a minute. On our way home we saw another girl hitch hiking and my mom decides to pick her up. She wasn't as interesting, I guess she was drunk and lost. It's strange that we saw that many hitch hikers and even more strange to pick them up. At least it turned out to be OK.
